Growing Garlic From Cloves
Growing garlic is really easy. It’s actually one of the easiest things to grow. All I had to do was pluck individual cloves into the ground around November and just wait until June to harvest them.
I haven’t had any kind of pest go after them. In fact, they seem to repel other pests when they are planted with my other crops. They’re just like other vegetables in regards to their fertility needs. I’ll feed them with compost and with a small dose of Foliage Pro or Mittleider fertilizer.
They like the pulse watering system because they never dry out. They also prefer to get plenty of sun.
There’s really nothing more to growing garlic. Just plant a clove wherever you see an opening and let them grow until the tops turn yellow and die. That’s when you know to harvest them. For me, it’s June. I have a long growing season so it might be more difficult to grow them in a more northern location. But you should still try!
