Mineral Fertilizers Don’t Kill Soil

This kale was not growing since I planted it. It was in stasis. Not dying but not growing.

I gave it regular doses of mineral fertilizers and it’s grown into a huge plant now.

The funny thing is that the soil has tons of worms in it. If fertilizer killed the soil, then there wouldn’t be earthworms. They are a perfect indicator that the soil food web is humming because they have plenty of food.

Obviously you can overdo it like you can overdo anything. But the idea that fertilizers kill the soil is a complete myth.

If you feed your plants, you feed the soil.
